Stephen Whisler

Stephen Whisler was born in 1953 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Whisler lived for many years in Manhattan, and spent years more in Napa, California before moving to the Hudson Valley where he now lives and works in Saugerties. He received his MFA at Claremont Graduate University in 1981after getting his BA from the University of California Davis in 1976, and has been exhibiting steadily since 1979. Venues include Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, Berkeley Art Center, Chandra Cerrito Contemporary in Oakland, University Art Gallery, Sonoma State University, David Brower Center, Berkeley, Napa Valley Museum, Schneider Museum of Art, Galerie Blau, Freiburg, Germany, Andre Zarre Gallery, New York, NY, Patricia Hamilton, Los Angeles, Artists Space, New York, and others.
