Christopher Griffith was born in Toronto, Canada. Originally trained as a research biochemist, he left a PHD program at University College, London, to pursue a career in Fashion Photography. He subsequently worked internationally for 25 years as a photographer with early commissions at Vogue, Paris, Glamour and Arena Magazines, and Issey Miyake along with Fortune 500 commercial clients. He has won awards from American Photography, Creative Review, Graphis, Communication Arts, and others, producing several books along the way. He transitioned fully to painting in 2016, and now lives and works in a converted church in Stuyvesant, exhibiting locally and abroad.
